Business Analyst of the Year Award 2011 – Finalists

David Avis – Barclays Bank plc
David Avis is Lead Business Analyst for Barclays Retail Bank, a passionate BA working in both traditional and agile environments on a wide range of core banking projects and most at home resolving complex problems and trying something new. Passion number two is the people he works with and the fellow analysts he meets, bringing people with potential into the profession and helping others to find new challenges and share skills and knowledge. He is working to gain the BCS Diploma in Business Analysis.
Christine Henly – Allianz Insurance plc
Christine has worked as an analyst in the financial services arena for more than 20 years. She has been involved in a number of different aspects of analysis and has worked on both IT-led and business-led projects. Her experience covers strategy development, feasibility studies, requirements management, solution design build and test and project implementation. She has spent the last 4½ years with Allianz Insurance, firstly as part of the IT division and latterly as a Senior Business Analyst in a business division where she leads a team of change analysts. Christine holds the BCS Diploma in Business Analysis and is a registered PRINCE2TM practitioner.
Julie Morley – Lloyds Banking Group plc
Julie is a Lead Business Analyst with experience gained in a wide range of business units in Lloyds Banking Group, with proven skills in business analysis and project management. As well as working on several strategic projects for her organisation, Julie is implementing a new role as Business Unit Domain Analyst and working to raise the profile and increase the professionalism of business analysis. She holds the BCS Diploma in Business Analysis.
Andrew Perkins – Post Office Ltd
Andrew is a Senior Business Analyst who has worked for Post Office Ltd for ten years and who currently specialises in IT changes relating to the high-volume postal business of the Post Office. Andrew is always looking for innovative methods to engage with and elicit requirements from stakeholders. Working with a multi-supplier base, he specifies changes that transform complex and always diverse business requirements into counter processes and transactions that operate across many different branch types in Post Offices Ltd’s 11,500 branches and 25,000 counter positions.
Katerina Petroulaki – Lloyds Banking Group plc
Katerina is an experienced BA and holds the BCS Diploma in Business Analysis. She is actively involved in developing others as a team leader and line manager. In her Portfolio Lead BA capacity, Katerina undertakes strategic analysis, works as a partner with the business in developing their vision and shaping their projects, and provides to her team. In the last year, Katerina has established herself in the Lloyds Banking Group Risk and Group Corporate Treasury IT Leadership team, and put business analysis at the centre of their offering to the business. Katerina’s personal aim is to build BA capability in this area and create an environment where analysts are keen to work for LBG.
