Certificate in Management Consulting Essentials

AssistKD are accredited to offer this qualification which is awarded by the Institute of Consulting in conjunction with the Chartered Management Institute.

Candidates can undertake the assignments that are required to achieve this qualification either on completion of the AssistKD IS Consultancy Practice course or after a tailored programme of training designed for their own specific needs. This may be a block of classroom training, a series of separate workshops, self study or a mixture of these. AssistKD sees the elapsed time to undertake this as being around 3 months, but this could be modified in the light of customer requirements.

Whatever approach is taken the following key topics are covered in the training:

• The consultancy role
• The consultancy cycle
• The client relationship
• Communication for consultants
• Effective project delivery
• Structured knowledge, research and analysis

The candidate assignment is charged separately to any training and is undertaken in the candidate’s work place. Registration for the assignment component, which leads to the award itself, includes:

• Supervision by an AssistKD mentor during the assignment period
• Submission to the CMI/IC for final assessment
• A year’s student membership of the CMI
• Access to the full set of CMI on-line study resources
