Who is this course for?

Business analysts, customer journey analysts, solution developers, project managers and anyone who is involved in managing corporate data or is responsible for database administration. Data Management Essentials is also a Specialist Practitioner module on the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis.

About the course

Are you a data management practitioner, IT/IS manager or business manager concerned with how data is used and managed in your organisation? Would you like to learn the skills and techniques to allow you to implement an industry standard, best practice approach to data management? If the answer to those questions is ‘yes’, then this course on Data Management Essentials is perfect for you.

The Data Management Essentials course demonstrates various techniques and procedures for managing corporate data and describes which roles combine to provide an effective data management team. The course also covers data and enterprise, data quality and current data management themes. You will learn through short, focused sessions where your trainer will encourage you to share problems and issues you may have faced.

Is there an exam?

Yes. During this four day course you’ll receive all the training you need to prepare for the BCS Data Management Essentials certificate exam. A pass in this module will contribute to the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis.

For delegates attending a virtual or online course, the exam will be a written, scenario-based, open book exam and may be taken at one of our classroom locations in London or Thame. The pass mark is 25/50. Please contact us for further details, available dates and to make a booking.

You’ll also be given a comprehensive Data Management Essentials course manual, containing further information and guidance on further reading.

What’s next?

If this course is part of your BCS Diploma in Business Analysis programme you have a choice of further modules which include the core BA Diploma modules, Business Analysis Practice and Requirements Engineering. Candidates who have already completed Data Management Essentials also need to pass one of the Foundation Specialisms; in Business Analysis, IS Project Management, Business Change or Commerical Awareness.
