Who is this course for?

Business Analysts, business change specialists, systems analysts and anyone who is involved in gathering, analysing, documenting and managing requirements through e-learning. Requirements Engineering is also a Core module on the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis.

About the course

AssistKD’s Requirements Engineering e-learning course is structured around a Requirements Engineering framework which utilises a range of techniques for elicitation, analysis, documentation and management of requirements. Two detailed case studies are used in the course to enable attendees to practice applying the techniques. Key areas covered include:

  • Elicitation techniques, including workshops

  • Requirements categorisation, prioritisation and documentation

How is the course structured?

The Requirements Engineering e-learning course allows users to learn the syllabus content at their own pace, in their own time. Combining interactive course content, tutor audio, practice exam questions and a sample examination, the course forms a flexible and comprehensive path to the BCS Requirements Engineering examination. For the duration of the course, delegates can also request access to an electronic version of the Requirements Engineering course manual that is provided with virtual courses. 

Is there an exam?

Yes. This e-learning course thoroughly prepares participants for the BCS Requirements Engineering examination. The examination is closed book and tests the participant's application of Requirements Engineering techniques on business scenarios. This certificate contributes to the BCS Diploma in Business Analysis, as shown below:

The examination is included in the price of the e-learning course. The exam can be taken at home via online proctoring. Further instructions on how to book your exam will be given by the AssistKD e-learning team upon purchase of the course and exam.

Please note that you will require a webcam and to be able to download Zoom to sit your exam at home.

What’s next?

If this course is part of your BCS Diploma in Business Analysis programme you have a choice of further modules which include the other Core BA Diploma module, Business Analysis Practice. Candidates who have already completed the Core modules can take one Practitioner specialism, which includes Benefits Management and Business Acceptance, Systems Modelling Techniques, Modelling Business Processes, Systems Development Essentials or Data Management Essentials. Before taking the Oral exam, candidates must also pass one of the Foundation Specialisms; in Business Analysis, IS Project Management, Business Change or Commercial Awareness.
