Dr Debra Paul has become the first recipient of the Business Analysis Hall of Fame Award, recognising her outstanding and lasting contribution to the Business Analysis profession.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented on Tuesday 22 September at the IRM Business Analysis Conference Europe, by fellow Business Analysis authors Craig Rollason and Christina Lovelock.

Craig is a contributor to the BCS book Business Analysis, Fourth Edition, alongside Debra, while Christina and Debra co-authored the BCS book Delivering Business Analysis.

A lifetime of contribution to Business Analysis

Debra has played a significant role in the development of Business Analysis as a professional discipline through her work as a practitioner, trainer, author and thought leader.

She has co-authored some of the profession’s best-known books, helped develop Business Analysis good practice and, through her work with AssistKD and the wider Business Analysis community, supported generations of business analysts in developing their skills and careers.

The Business Analysis Hall of Fame has been created to recognise individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the profession, with Debra becoming its inaugural recipient.

Celebrating Debra’s career

As part of the presentation, friends, colleagues and members of the Business Analysis community contributed to a video montage celebrating Debra’s career.

Contributors were asked to describe Debra in just a few words and share how she has influenced the Business Analysis profession or their own lives and careers.

The messages provided a fitting reflection of both her professional achievements and the personal impact she has had on the many people she has worked with, taught and supported over the years.

Congratulations, Debra, on an extraordinary and thoroughly deserved achievement.
