Eight outstanding business analysts have been named as finalists for Business Analyst of the Year 2026.

The award recognises individuals who have made an exceptional contribution through business analysis, demonstrating the impact the profession can have on organisations, customers, colleagues and communities.

This year's finalists are:

Sarah Scroggie, Royal London

Sarah is a BCS-qualified Analysis Lead with a proven track record in complex digital and customer-led change. A committed mentor, she combines strategic thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on approach and a focus on creating better experiences and improved outcomes for customers.

Emily Wilson, Deloitte

Emily is a Lead Business Analyst with over five years' experience delivering mission-critical public services used by millions of customers each year. She specialises in translating complex policy and operational requirements into user-centred solutions, balancing user experience with security and organisational objectives.

John Wisner, Capco

John is an experienced leader in business analysis best practice and enterprise business process design and implementation. He is UK Consulting Lead for Business Architecture, Business Analysis and Operational Excellence, host of the BA Insights podcast and a regular speaker at BA conferences and IIBA events.

Jamie Judd, Renishaw PLC

Jamie is a Senior Business and Systems Analyst with extensive experience across IT, manufacturing and engineering. Over the past year, Jamie has helped establish business analysis as a recognised organisational capability, while mentoring colleagues and supporting the development of consistent BA standards.

Catrin Woodcock, Deloitte

Catrin is a Lead Business Analyst working with a large central government department, where she manages a team of BAs tackling complex challenges through digital strategy. She is also Delivery Lead for the Business Analysis craft at Deloitte and has co-authored articles on business analysis.

Joris Schut, BearingPoint B.V.

Joris is a Business Advisor at BearingPoint and board member at Scouting Nederland. His work ranges from reshaping volunteer governance to transforming critical asset management, and he is an active mentor, speaker and community builder committed to strengthening the business analysis profession.

Hannah Burbridge, National Centre for VAWG and Public Protection

Hannah is the sole Business Analyst for the National Centre for VAWG and Public Protection, where she leads work to improve analytical capability across policing. Her work includes improving the quality of policing data and building an analytical community offering free CPD opportunities.

Bilal Malik, North Highland

Bilal is a Senior Business Analyst with extensive experience across complex, large-scale digital transformation programmes. He is passionate about the profession and actively supports the growth of the BA community through peer development alongside his work delivering change for clients.

Celebrating excellence in business analysis

The Business Analyst of the Year Award celebrates the people behind great business analysis: practitioners who use their skills, judgement and experience to understand difficult problems, bring people together and help organisations achieve better outcomes.

This year's finalists demonstrate the breadth of modern business analysis, with experience spanning financial services, government, policing, engineering, consulting, digital transformation and community organisations.

The Business Analyst of the Year 2026 winner will be announced at the Business Analysis Conference Europe, taking place from 21-23 September 2026.
