Business analysts, customer journey analysts, project managers, business change practitioners and anyone in business who needs to build and lead high-performing teams. Team Leadership is also a People Skills module on the BCS (ISEB) Advanced Diploma in Business Analysis.

The Team Leadership course explores the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to lead a hybrid team in a high performance, fast-changing environment.

The course develops candidates’ self-awareness as a team leader, providing a practical introduction to emotional intelligence and participative leadership. Candidates will learn how to use positive communication strategies, coach for performance, deliver effective feedback, handle difficult conversations, manage time and priorities, and delegate competently.

Finally, the course introduces the tools and techniques candidates need to lead a team successfully through change.

Upon the completion of this workshop, candidates will be able to:

  1. Understand the importance of being a behavioural role model for others and “walking the talk”.
  2. Develop self-awareness and a growth mindset, using feedback from others to improve as a leader.
  3. Assess their own leadership and management behaviours and potential in the context of Goleman’s EQ.
  4. Empower hybrid team members to build trust, improve performance and sustain motivation, engagement, and well-being.
  5. Develop a flexible leadership style which is appropriate to individuals’ development levels.
  6. Set SMART performance objectives which align with organisational and departmental goals.
  7. Manage team performance and hold difficult performance conversations constructively and with confidence. Coach individuals for improved performance.
  8. Plan, monitor and review the implementation of change. Prioritise and delegate team tasks effectively in a high-pressure, changing work environment.
