In this Olympic year, the themes of the Award were based on the Olympic motto - Citius, Altius, Fortius, which translates as Faster, Higher, Stronger. In relation to the Business Analysis of the Year Award 2012, the motto represents:

Faster: How has your work helped your organisation to respond more quickly to the challenges that face it?
Higher: How have you assisted your organisation in achieving more or providing better services to the organisation's customers?
Stronger: How have you contributed to making your organisation more resilient and adaptable to changes in the business environment?
