The winner of the IIBA UK Business Analyst of the Year Award 2025 has been announced. Mark Cross, Business Analyst Consultant at Envista Consulting, excelled in all of this year’s criteria: resilience; analysis and modelling; and collaboration.

The award ceremony was hosted by AssistKD’s Lawrence Darvill, Director/Founder of the BA Manager Forum, on Day 1 of the Business Analysis Conference Europe 2025. BA conference keynote speaker Julie Holmes presented the award.

Reflecting the high standard of applications, there were eight finalists instead of six this year. All of them impressed the judges at both application and interview stage. 

The judges said of Mark: “An authentic and inspiring thought leader, Mark is working at the cutting edge of Business Analysis. He is breaking boundaries and sharing his innovations with a global audience. He personifies commitment to the development of the profession through his volunteering work with IIBA and BCS. His personal ambition is to show that neurodiversity should be no barrier to success as a BA.”

When asked to comment on receiving the award, Mark said: “I was only able to do this by standing the shoulders of giants and working with a fantastic team. I would like to share with fellow members of the neurodiverse community – this is what you can achieve when you find something that’s bigger than fear.”
