A series sucess

The IIBA UK Chapter has wrapped up its highly successful Business Architecture Book Club series, an inspiring initiative designed to bring business analysts and architecture professionals together for thought-provoking discussion, knowledge sharing, and community building.

The idea for the series was proposed by Christina Tan, President of IIBA UK, and was brought to life through the dedication and coordination of the IIBA UK Team, including Adriana Silva. The initiative comprised three interactive webinars followed by a well-attended in-person event in London.

The Book Club Series: A Blend of Insight and Interaction

The three-part webinar series featured a range of expert voices, each session focusing on different aspects of business architecture:

  • Webinar 1 – 15th May: The opening session featured Jonathan Hunsley and Debbie Paul. The emphasis was on introducing the book and laying the groundwork for understanding the core concepts of business architecture.
  • Webinar 2 – 5th June: The second session featured Jonathan Hunsley and Victoria Banner. The focus was on understanding the Business Architecture Service Framework and the principles and standards for applying business architecture in a real-world context.
  • Webinar 3 – 19th June: The third session featured Debbie Paul and Vicky Rothwell. The final webinar explored the competence and capability views of business architecture.

Final Event: A Face-to-Face Gathering on 2nd July

Culminating in a live event on 2nd July, the series concluded with a vibrant, in-person gathering hosted and sponsored by Methods / Methods Analytics.

  • Gavin Stephenson of Methods hosted the event and shared a compelling case study, offering real-world insight into the application of business architecture.
  • Debra Paul and Jonathan Hunsley presented on their motivations for the book, the maturity of the business architecture profession and the need for value co-creation.
  • Helen Appleton, Christina Tan and Adriana Silva played a key role in helping organise the event, ensuring it ran smoothly and encouraged networking among attendees.
  • The end of the event featured a lively question and answer session. Victoria Banner and Vicky Rothwell led on this with support from Debra and Jonathan.
  • The event was also proudly sponsored by IRM, with Shane attending in person to support the initiative and connect with the community.
